I am currently on tour in australia, which so far seems to be going pretty well. The venue in Adelaide threw up a few problems, and I apologise to people in the first 2 shows who had problems hearing. This was a combination of bad acoustics, and the fact that we had to have the extractor fans on full blast during the show because of the stupid heat. Anyway, after a few adjustments, and me ditching a lapel mic for a hand held (technie jargon), things improved drastically. This is little consolation to the people at the back of the gig, who thought they'd come to see a mute comedian, but anyway, I'm sorry.
I've just finished a run at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney, which apparently the Rolling Stones played not too long ago. The venue manager tells me they all had their own private doctors and oxygen tanks backstage, which made me feel slightly better about my backstage request for "a banana, and some Tim Tams, please?" The show was recorded for a DVD, and I'd like to thank the people who came and gave their support. Hopefully the DVD will be out sometime later this year.... I'll post the release date on the website when I know more.
I'm in Brisbane for now, with a week of shows at the Powerhouse Theatre in New Farm. Then I start the Melbourne shows at the Atheneum Theatre on the 12th April. It's all good. Mum, if you're reading this, can you check on my flat in edinburgh sometime? water plants etc....thanks, danny
