February 7th 2006 - February 7, 2006

hello everybody,

A big 'thank you' to all of you who turned up to the jazz bar again on Sunday. I know I've been promising a few 'special guests', but I've discovered an 800-mile round trip, a small pay packet and a night on a couch in a half-decorated flat in sub zero temperatures, hasn't quite proved the 'carrot on the stick' I hoped it would be for fellow comedians. I've definately got someone lined up for the last show on sunday 19th Feb, so that will be good.

In other news, it's been a tough past week for the animation industry, so I have reluctantly decided to put back the release of my forthcoming comic book based on the character of a hapless extremist, called "You Weren't Only Supposed To Blow The Bloody Doors Off!" Keep checking back for the new release date.

In all seriousness, I would like to apologise to the muslim fellow on saturday night in London who took offense at my opening jokes regarding the Danish cartoon.

"How would you like it if there was a Scottish cartoon , depicting the main character as fat and ginger?" he rightly pointed out. I didn't think it was appropriate to mention the popular Scottish Daily Express cartoon, Garfield.

Anyway, this friday I will be in Leicester for the Leicester Comedy Festival (that's right, the Leicester Comedy Festival). Apparently, I'm on at the same time as Roseanne Barr. I'm hoping to catch her backstage to ask her "what the hell is she doing in Leicester?" After 2 more Jazz Bar gigs, I leave for Oz on the 20th Feb, but I'll be stopping in Singapore for 4 gigs 22-25th Feb. So, if you're one of those jammy ex-pats who got a cushy transfer to the South-East Asia office of Bang & Olufsen a few years back, feel free to come along and look smug, yet a little discontented.

The Australia tour starts in with a 2 week stint in Adelaide, the only city in the world that feels like a suburb, on 7th of March. Then, I'm in Sydney, Brisbane and Melbourne which are all in Australia. But, I'll talk to you all again long before that...

Finally, a big congratulations to the Scottish rugby team who pulled off a massive win against the French at Murrayfield last weekend. It seems inconceivable now, that a Grand Slam win, full independence, and a return of the Stuart succession to the throne, are anything other than 'in the bag.' I look forward to the big game against England which I will be watching in Singapore, no doubt on a Bang & Olufsen tele, in an exceptionally clean, but rather souless bar. "FREEDOMM!"
