Jazz Bar gigs - January 21, 2006

hello everyone!

just to remind any of you planning to come to the gigs at the jazz bar (chambers street) over the next few sundays, that tickets are only available at the door from 6pm onwards. Sorry about this, because it's quite a small venue, this was the only way to do it. Feel free to stick around afterwards and listen to some soothing jazz (is there any other kind of jazz?).

Happy New Year - January 9, 2006

Hello, and a happy new year to you all. It's a World Cup year, and they're always good.

As promised, here is an update of what's been going on. I did the Falls Festival in Tasmania on the 30th, which was very enjoyable, and the Falls Festival in Lorne on 31st, which wasn't so enjoyable. I apologise to all the people who saw me struggle to compete with the deafening sound of a band in one of the other tents. What better environment for comedy could there possibly be? Personally, I don't think drums are that important in a band anyway. What is a rock band without drums, if not just a slightly gentler folk group? Anyway, Adam Hills was good, I thought.

I have a couple of gigs coming up in Melbourne and Sydney, where I'll be trying out some new stuff. I'm at the Local in St.Kilda on Monday 9th, and at 'The Friend in Hand' in Cowper St, Glebe, Sydney on Thursday 12th. Come down! It's 2006, you promised yourself you'd try to get more....
